3. Account creation

The procedure of account creation is as follows:

1. The first step to access PSNC's resources is to register in the Users and Services Portal (opens new window).

2. To do so, you need to click on the Login/register button in the right-top corner:

   TIP

   If you received an invitation from an existing portal's user, you may be redirected to the registration page automatically.

3. In the displayed screen, by default, you are requested to provide your credential in order to log in to an existing account. Since we assume that you have no account yet, you need to register first. This can be done in two different ways:

   • Creation of an account based on PIONIER.Id - if you hold a PIONIER.Id, you can use the federated login to automatically create an account in the portal with the essential information gathered automatically from the PIONIER.Id account.
   • Creation of an account in the portal from scratch - by clicking Register in the lower part of the login panel, you will be able to create an account directly in the portal. This option requires a little more information to be provided by a user, but is available also for users who don't have a PIONIER.Id account.

   Since the second option is more universal, in this tutorial we will focus on it. In order to start the creation of a new account in this way, please click the Register button.

4. Now you need to provide a bunch of information about you:

   • First name
   • Last name
   • Email
   • Username - this name will be used on computing resources (hover on Guides to get more information)
   • Password / Confirm Password

   All this information is necessary to enable your account.
   Once you filled in the data, you can click Register

5. In the next step, you are requested to confirm that you agree with our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy. You need to agree with both of them and click Accept

6. You should receive the following message informing that the verification of your email address is needed.

7. After a while, you should receive an e-mail with the confirmation link.

8. Please click on the link marked as Link to email address verification.

9. From this moment you are a PSNC user, but there are a few more steps needed to access computing resources. In the next part of the instruction, you will learn how to create a space.
